I am a 2015 Wayne State University graduate. I majored in Language Arts and I am certified to teach grades kindergarten through eighth. I have worked at Poupard Elementary School in the Grosse Pointe School District for five years. I started as the Director of their Kids Club program, which meets both before and after school. Within the Kids Club program, I created a Homework Club where I guide and assist students with any homework and/or studying needs they have.
While working in the Grosse Pointe School System, I became one of the few building substitutes to work at Poupard very regularly. Within the district, I am the Director of the summer camp program, which houses around 120 campers each summer! The students range in age from 4-13. As the Director, I coordinate field trips and daily activities for campers. I am in constant communication with parents.
As early as I can remember I have wanted to become an educator. I think teaching is one of the most important professions there is. I want to become a teacher so that I can make a positive diffence in children's lives. I can't wait to contribute all I have learned in my education thus far in order to enrich others.
As a teacher, I take pride in helping others learn, in respecting my students, by creating a sense of community in the clasroom, and by learning new things myself. Completing my teaching certificate has been such a great accomplishment for me. Having my own classroom and enriching new minds every day has been a dream of mine.
